Does exactly what's written on the box. Car has gone from handling like a barge to feeling fast. My Outback XT is about 2 inches lower than stock with these. There is still space to go lower or higher from where I am.
Damping adjustments are quick, easy, and make meaningful changes. If you don't want to cut a hole in your carpet for the adjuster extensions, I can just barely turn the adjusters by lifting up the floor and sneaking my fingers under the side carpeted panel.
I would say a little lighter compression tune relative to rebound could improve the ride comfort some, but that's not why you want coilovers anyway. Right?
The rear spring rate feels noticably softer than the front, which makes sense given that stock springs have a roughly 3:2 rate ratio rear:front (according to the internet) whereas these are 4:3. Not a huge deal though since you can change springs later if you hate it. I don't really mind it too much since I'm not racing this thing. On a track I suspect you would notice a little extra understeer unless you countered it with a bigger rear sway bar.
The last thing to add is that I needed adjustable rear lateral links to get the car aligned to my liking after going down 2 inches. These Outbacks toe in bad when you lower them. Keep that in mind as you budget for and order parts.
Overall I'm happy with the purchase. Got these and all my lateral links from Coilover Depot and everything arrived on-time and in good shape. Definitely recommend both product and seller.
