Yes! If you are ordering BC Racing, Fortune Auto, or Silvers coilovers We have the ability to set up your coilover kit with custom spring rates and damping based on your needs. If you have already researched what spring rate you want, then simply enter your desired spring rates in the comment box after clicking add to cart. Damping will automatically be matched to a spring rate other than the standard rate out of the box (no need to request damping too). Be advised, the standard kits that every brand sells are a very good match for most cars, and uses so not everyone needs a "custom" kit!
Yes! BC Racing, Fortune Auto, and Silvers all offer extreme low options or super low options on many kits. Extreme low or Super low kits include a shorter spring and shock combo to allow for a lower overall drop. This will also affect how high the kit can go, so there is a trade off and you should consider this before ordering. We only recommend the Extreme low options for those who are looking to go very low, or stanced. We do not recommend this setup for serious track vehicles unless you really know how to setup the suspension around them.
Yes! We offer custom Swift spring upgrades for most BC Racing, Fortune, and Silvers coilovers. The standard coilover springs are swapped out for Japanese built Swift Springs and arrive ready to go. The Swift springs are a high quality spring and will provide better ride quality as well as overall handling. Swift only makes springs, so they are some of the best springs available on the market, which is why they perform better than the standard coilover springs (although there is nothing wrong with standard springs).
Swift springs have a more consistent spring rate over the entire compression range. This means they do not get much stiffer as they compress, keeping the ride smoother and more predictable. You won't get as much of a jolt as you hit bumps. They also have less coils per spring, which allows them to compress much farther, this provides more compression range and will soak up bumps and dips better The response times are also superior to standard springs to provide sharper turn in, and better handling on curvy or bumpy tracks.
rear extenders are an add-on accessory that some brands offer. The extender is a remote knob attached to the damping adjustment knob on top of the coilover. The extenders consist of a flexible steel cable with a coating on top to prevent corrosion or scuffing of your interior. They are a HUGE help for adjusting your rear damping settings on most sedans and coupes. Without extenders every time you want to adjust the damping you have to remove your rear trunk liner or seats. With the extenders you just drill a small hole in the liner and they slip right through, allowing quick and easy adjustment!
Camber plates are not available on some kits due to the factory design of some vehicles. Camber plates will generally only work on a "McPherson strut" design. The reason is because some car makers like Lexus and Honda use A-Arm style suspension on their cars, both front and rear. This style of suspension will not support the use of a camber plate, so you would need to use either an adjustable Arm/Link or other camber adjustment setup. If you ever see a listing that says a Lexus/Honda kit includes camber plates, many times it is not correct. These listings are usually generic listings that cover many makes of cars. The kits will generally ship with rubber insert upper mounts, which are ideal for street use, Pillowball plates are optional. However the pillowball plate is just a solid steel bearing, it has no adjustments. We can provide you a number of camber adjustment parts if you'd like, just email us and we can work up a quote for those parts. We carry popular brands such as SPC, Cusco, Whiteline etc, and they offer camber solutions for many A-Arm vehicles.
If the coilover kit requires a new set of end links the brands include them. Most cars however do not require new end links, so the kit can be used with stock links.
All custom kits are built at the brands facility and ship ready to install. There is nothing you need to do on your end once they arrive except install them onto the car and adjust them to your specs! We do need to explain that there is a short lead time on any custom orders. Custom orders are orders such as (custom spring rates, dampening, swift spring kit, extreme low, etc.) These orders can take 3-4 weeks to ship, as they are custom built to order. This time starts about 24-48 hours after placing your order through our site.
Not at the moment. while coilover depot has a complete shop with lifts in Dayton Ohio. We are not taking install appointments at this time. Our staff is very familiar with coilovers and suspension setups. We just do not have the time at the moment to work on installs.
We highly recommend getting an alignment anytime a set of coilovers are installed. The camber and toe settings will be changed sometimes drastically due to the change in height. These changes can make the vehicle dangerous to drive. We also recommend a professional alignment to avoid excessive tire wear.
That depends. most coilovers can handle some track use. However some kits and lines from brands are better suited for daily driven cars that see little to no track time. Most of the coilovers that are budget friendly and sub $700.00 would be best suited for street only duty. Most kits that are $800 and up in price are built using stronger and larger components.

No, coilovers are not pre-set for ride-height or damping from the factory. You, or the install shop, will need to set the height on the vehicle. The damping settings can be set to your preference, don't be afraid to experiment! A good rule of thumb is to start in the middle and work your way either stiffer or softer depending on your needs. You will also need to check the preload on the springs, again all the settings need to be to your driving style and preference to keep at it until you get it exactly how you want it.
